Held accountable

It seems I've been lackadaisical with my jewelry blog! {I just really wanted to use the word "lackadaisical."}

I have been in a way. I wanted to write this morning to hold myself accountable because tonight I wanted to take some pictures of jewelry. If I promise you pictures for next week in today's post, it might make that happen a little sooner than later!

I wish I had a Miss Sally story. In a way I do. It's a story. Not a story of an old lady that has amazing jewelry and with no one to give it to, but it's a story nonetheless. I'm not ready to share yet, but as I get the ball rolling, I will.

So consider this post holding me accountable: I will post pictures next week.

Am I disloyal?

Today, I'm meeting with a jeweler here in Baton Rouge, and I feel like I'm cheating on my other jewelers in Anderson. I just need some help is all.

I hope to get my creative juices flowing with someone who can execute what I have in mind. This really could be a match made in heaven: I come up with the ideas, then someone does the work. This is excellent. Except I have to pay, which is not excellent.

I have to say, one thing I'll miss about Anderson forever is the cheaper than cheap prices.

I'll keep you posted on my time with my new jeweler. He says he likes people with different ideas! I think we'll be fast friends.

Exciting things coming to Cherche'! Will post jewelry soon!

Beauty beyond the bad photo skills

Friday, January 7, 2011

Check out this p.o.s. photography!

Sorry if you're offended but the language or the photo skills. Or lack thereof. I wanted so badly to show you my new {old} find. I really didn't want to wait for my husband to meticulously photograph and edit this onyx beauty. Although, he does do a fine job.

So here it is. Raw, terrible photography, unedited without the Cherche' logo and all.

It's a size 7 onyx ring set in 14k with a small diamond in the center.

I hope you find my ignorance to technology endearing.

What can I say? I'm an old soul that loves old things.

{Despite the horrendous photo job: SOLD}

Frugal and festive

Sunday, January 2, 2011

Andrew and I went to a gorgeous wedding in Lafayette for New Years. I wanted to post a picture of what I wore, more so as it relates to jewelry. I found the three-strand seed pearl necklace in my stash of "junk jewelry" when I went home for Christmas. I then paired it with the rhinestone brooch in my Cherche' collection. Also, in my Cherche' stash, I found a pair of 3 stone rhinestone earrings that went well with the brooch. I'm not a matchy-matchy person, but sometimes it's nice to tie things together as such. Just to be thorough, my sweater is my mom's aunt's {now mine} from the 1950s with the fur detachable. I also have the sweater in cream. And the dress is 5 years old from Dillards around $30. You can't say I'm not frugal.

And just for good measure, here's one of the both of us.

And just to be festive, here's one close to midnight. Happy New Year!

{Damn, I really need to learn how to work a real camera.}
